Where did time go?

Good morning folks,

I cannot believe just how fast the summer has flown by! Only 1 month and 7 days left, then back to school! I did have a good and productive summer though. Plus I actually took some holiday time, which is something I have not done in a while. I took a week off to work out at Camp Morice in Fort St. James, and also in mid May I went down to Victoria for a couple of days. I must confess that I'm ready to go back to school now because, as we all know, there is only so much Slave On that one can handle. I do have a bit of news since my last update too.

First, I got my practicum placement for September. I'll be teaching at PGSS(my old highschool) working with Mr. Hauk, teaching Social Studies 9, 11, and perhaps Geography 12. I swear that the lady who finds our practicum placements must match teachers to students based on personality if she knows them. For example, last year I worked with Mr. Martin, and it was uncanny how well we worked together. My teacher for this year has the exact same educational background as I do. He went to Catholic school, Went to UNBC and got a History Major, Geography minor, and an Education degree. I'm really excited to teach with him.

Also, I met my Faculty Advisor for my practicum too... by accident. Her husband actually was my advisor for September 2009 practicum, and I always chat with him at Save On when he comes through the till. One day his wife came in, and it turns out that she's a teacher too, so I got to know her as well, and she got excited about all my education stories. Just a few days ago they came in, and Ms. Kapral asked me if I got placed yet, and when I told her she had an inquisitive look and asked "What's your last name?" When I told her, she told me that she's been assigned to be my advisor! As it turns out, when my mom was a student at PGSS Ms. Kapral taught her, and when my brother was a student, she taught him as well! It's a small world!

Next, I'm considering buying a new car! That's right, it's time to upgrade the batmobile. She served me well for almost 6 years, and I thought it was time for a newer car. The only problem is that the new car has a standard transmission, so it might take some work to learn how to drive it. Not sure if I'll get it yet, because it will certainly take some budgeting. The "New batmobile" is silver, but dad said we could easily make it a nice black if I really have my heart set on repainting it; however I don't think I will because it looks nice the way it is. We'll see how things go.

Anyway, that's all the news I have for now. I'll keep you posted on how the practicum goes!
