Hey folks,
Just thought that I would share with you a new musical sensation (well, new to me at least). They were here two weeks ago now, and when I would ask people who they were, they responded "You'll know them when you hear them, and I'll bet you are going to love them." Well, then Celia and the Chidiacs played this new band's (keeping in mind they are only new to me) Christmas album, and guess what?! I hated them!!! Then I got called from my boss at Regional Security and he asked me if I would like to work at this concert, so I thought about it, and finally realized that I need the money so why not? I'll go to it, but I wont like it!
So the dreaded day of Sunday January 21, 2007 rolls around, and time for work starts. The boss tells me I'll be working on the floor, so I get a nice clear view of the stage. All the guards on the floor were given chairs because it was predicted that it woul be a quiet evening. The opening act comes on, and she wasn't half bad (Anne Murray's daughter), and then an intermission... Then (you are probably wondering by now who this band is... If you haven't already found out by the title of the blog) the announcement: "And now please welcome THE RANKIN FAMILY!". Oh my goodness, they came on and started rocking the house!!!! I was an instant fan after only 10 minutes! I was being very professional though, I refrained from bobbing my head, and tapping my foot, I had my chair facing the crowd not the stage... That is until I saw the boss walk in, and I saw him look around at the crowd and saw how good they were, then he started to tap his foot, bob his head and sing along! It was awesome! So after I saw him do that, I started tapping and clapping, and trying to sing along (I've never heard them before so it was pretty funny trying to make it up as I went). It was such an awesome show!
The next day after their show I went to all the music shops in town to buy an album, but can you believe it... EVERY SINGLE MUSIC STORE IN PRINCE GEORGE WAS SOLD OUT!!!! It was such a good show that everyone went and bought their albums. I finally found one today, and I bought it, and haven't stopped listening to it. They are great.
Just thought I would share that with you folks. Have a great week
Cheers
